Something To Ponder and Laugh At…

After two days of “hibernating” (not exactly hibernating, it’s just that the furthest I went to during the past two days was only to the mini market… pathetic! hahahaha…), today I decided to go out for a “walk”. Hmmm… walk… yeah right! Sent my car for its routine (major!) service and made some detour in between. Since I have not seen the world for two days, even the stupidest thing can easily amused me. So here I’m jotting it down for you readers out there (who don’t have anything else to do but read other people’s blog… hahahahaha….), just to share. Even until now when I came to think about it, I’m still having my good laugh. Hehe… silly me…

Hilarious Yet Creative Car Sticker…

While I was in the car heading towards Jalan Ampang, I came across a self-made sticker being posted at the back of a Mini Minor (the ‘very’ classic version yah!) that reads, “When I grow up, I want to be a Rolls Royce!” Isn’t that hilarious, yet creative?!! Hehehe…I laugh my heart out looking at it. Almost missed a turn in the end! Huhuhu…

Learning Indo-Lingo Anyone?

As part of my detour, I dropped by at the latest Jusco branch opened at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn. They claimed that this is the largest Jusco outlet ever opened in

Malaysia

and vast ranges of branded items are being offered here. So, being nosy, I just went there to check. Well Jusco is being Jusco, everything was just the same. So when it’s time to go home, I decided to get some bahulu for snacks. The Indonesian lady who was selling this was really good at talking me out to purchase them. So finally I settled with two types of the bahulu offered which cost me RM6.50. I tendered an RM10 note but was startled when being asked this? “Kak, ada uang pas nggak?”. “Huh? Wang pas??? Apa itu wang pas???” My eyes rolled, my face frowned. “Uang kecil… 50 sen…” My big OOOOOOOO came out. Astaghfirullahalazim…. Am I somewhere in

Indonesia

and since when that I could understand their lingo??? Waduuhh…. Hahahah… I was laughing all the way to the car thinking about it. I guess now Malaysian would really have to learn more foreign languages since all the businesses are being taken over by the foreigners… Or else, we won’t be able to do our errands anymore…

My “Almost-Stale” 2006 Round-Up…

Happy New Year!!!

Waaaahhhh… It’s the New Year again and whoaaaaa… how time really flies man!!! Today, at the time of writing, it’s already the 8th day of the New Year 2007. I’ve been trying to write a blog since November last year but I was too busy to start up. My initial plan is to summarize all the peak points which affected my life the most throughout 2006, of which I would describe it as a “Fantabulous Year” altogether, but I suspect that this blog would somehow turn out to be a JOURNAL instead (since it is a round-up of 2006…)! Hahaha… In short, I would describe 2006 as a year with full of "lovely friendship relationship" I must say. So, should you find this very inappropriate to your time schedule, go fly kite somewhere else and DON’T ever try to read it yah! (P/s.: sounds mean eh? hahaha… just kidding). So, here it goes…

Jan 2006: The Renewal of Friendship Bonding…

Exactly today the 8th of Jan, a gathering of my ex-SAB friends was held at the

Hartamas Square

. I could still recall receiving phone calls and various sms-es from my old friends informing me about this gathering. At first I was a bit reluctant to go since most of my good friends weren’t able to attend, but still I went for it. Imagine after ten long years not talking to most of these people, we finally got to sit together and talked! It was amazing. When I thought that this was going to be a one-time event only, I was more surprised to be told that they were actually planning for a bigger… larger gathering! Hey! That’s cool! Basically I’m nothing against it but when they told me I was going to be one of the committee members, I started to chicken-out. Can I survive facing people that I’ve never talked to in school during the meeting? Huhuhu… I was all excited but anxious of the outcome. All-in-all, a friendship bonding has finally being renewed. And not to forget, I started my Friendster during this month.

Feb 2006: The Breakdown…

Not going to describe into details but it’s a downturn of the year for me. Ended a 4-years relationship with someone who I thought I could get married to before end of last year. One word to describe him… Cheater!

March 2006 – May 2006: Meetings and More Meetings…

Nothing much happened during the timeline. The committee and I were trying all our best to ensure that the “10th Year

Reunion

Dinner Night SABKL 92-96” boomed into a success. Phone calls, letters, e-mails, sms-es, etc… by all means, just to get all the information reached all the right people at the right time. Hunts for gifts/souvenirs, sponsors, better rates for event venue, all were thought of and craved for. Late-hours meeting and phone calls was part of the schedule. High-hopes for everything to turn out great.

June 2006: The Breakthrough!

All hard work paid! Alas, on June 17th, those who had confirmed their attendance turned up at the event which was held at the Crown Princess Hotel, KL. Those who I have never met in the last ten years especially my ex-classmates, they all came. We received good comments for all our efforts of which I’m really glad to hear them. Though the event clashes with one of the World Cup matches, but still, the nos. of attendees who turned up is something to be proud of. My gratitude to the committee members!

June 2006 also marked a new beginning in my career path. I was called for a second interview for the PTD post since I failed my first one in December 2005. Not like the first time, I have full confidence that I’m going to make it this time with flying colors. By the end of the month, I got a call from my friend telling me that I got the post! Well-wishes poured in from those who knew about this. Tears of joy steramed down my face as it was very hard to get into the work scheme. I’ve waited for this for almost two years now. However, my happiness was crushed by the requirement of my current work at that given time. From my offer letter for the job, I was supposed to report duty in Terengganu by July 17th, meaning that I have less than 1 month to tender my resignation letter. However, my employer at that time requires a 3-month notice no matter how or at least 1-month. Though there has been no black & white on the matter (since I’ve never received any offer or appointment letter though it has been 4 years since I worked there), but as a Secretary for the office, I knew well the office policy. I cried again for the second time of the month. Hahaha… They refused to let me go at first. Some of my friends encouraged me to just leave the office when the time comes. I refuse to that to my ex-bosses since they have groomed me so well. I just don’t have a heart to do that to them. My brains cells got jammed at this point of time!

July 2006: A New Beginning for Everything…

I finally being released from my job in S&A. Sad and thrilled at the same time. Had a very hectic life towards my final days at S&A. I was pushed so hard to enable smooth handover of the work to my predecessor, who turned out to be my sister’s friend. She’s my savior! I punched-out for the last time at S&A on the 13th and went on straight to

Penang

for a vacation on the 14th and then drove to Terengganu on the 17th for my 10-days course. Restless month! Talking about the

Penang

trip, it was actually a starting point of my renewed friendship with my old friends. Journey to Penang is like traveling back into time since I was once a resident of

Penang

at the age of 3 until I was about 10 years old. The Terengganu thing was more like a pre-preparation in becoming great PTDs. I almost pass-out on the first day of the activity due to lack of energy and stamina, but everything went on ok for the rest of the ten days. What an experience!

August 2006: My Life as a Government Officer Begins (not to mention… my late-night outings as well… huhuhu…)

Reported duty on the 31st July 2006 at MECD, Putrajaya. Nothing much happened until we got to know our department only one week after that. Became a boss for the first time here with almost 60 subordinates under my supervision! First task is to remember these people’s names and their scope of works. Crazy!  (P/s.: I experienced “short-term-memory” syndrome currently… hahaha…). The craziest thing I could ever remember of doing in this month was going to Genting Highlands on Merdeka night! It’s even crazier than remembering names! Thanks to the brilliant idea from a friend, a “teh-tarik session” at Dharoos turned to be a road trip of the century! Hahahaha… All 5 of us started our journey in a single car, drove up to Genting at about midnight just to enjoy hot chocolates at the Coffee Beans in a breezy/cool ambience (err… is it Coffee Beans or Starbucks? Hmmm… I can’t remember… heheh…) and came down again almost dawn. (P/s.: Managed to hide this from my parents until today. Phew…)

Sept 2006 & Oct 2006: …

Most of the events happened during these two months wasn’t really focusing on me too much but it does impact me significantly. Co-planned 2 surprised birthday celebrations for my 2 lovely girlfriends. One at Redbox Sunway and another at TGIF the Curve. Maybe it sounded cliché to some, but the intention was pure… just to see my 2 girlfriends happy. Love them dearly as they have given me so much happiness during the past few months. I’m blessed!

Nov 2006 & Dec 2006: It’s a Party!!!

Why did I say that? Because my birthday falls in this month! Wasn’t expecting too much of it as I normally celebrated my birthdays with my family at home. It’s like a tradition. But this year was way different. Since my dad wasn’t around, so there’s no celebration at home like we normally did. The celebration started on the 29th evening. Was invited to join a celebration of another birthday girl who turned out to share the same birth date as mine at Redbox Sogo. Though it was not meant for me, who cares! The peak of the night was a special appearance by Nana AF who befriended one of the guests. I guess no one really so into Nana that night but what the heck. At least we don’t have to pay any single dime to watch her sing! Hahahaha… Honestly, I enjoyed the night so much!

30th was my birthday. Went to watched CINTA with my two girlfriends and they bought me birthday gifts! Never expected to get gifts from friends at this kind of age. Aiyark! So sweet of them. Love it! (P/s.: Not only the gifts, but the friendship too…)

1st Dec was past the celebration period but my other girlfriends took me out for dinner at Kg. Baru. Was touched by their thoughts since everybody is parting away according to their life priorities but really enjoyed their company for the night.

2nd Dec was really unexpected of me. Thinking of a just normal outing but turn out to be a tremendous-unthinkable celebration of my life. For the very first time I was on the stage at Planet, blowing off the candles on my birthday cake, accompanied by life-band, singing happy birthday to me! Wahlauwei! With I’m the only creature wearing “tudung” and doing “joget” on the stage, I could tell that the audiences might have thought that I’m a lunatic! Hahahaaha… Although I have to admit that I’m quite embarrassed with what I did on stage, but I don’t think I ouwld get another experience such as that anywhere else in any point of my life. So, my zillion thanks to my friends who have craked their heads for my birthday celebration. Love you guys a lot!

24th Dec was another awaited date in my diary. My friends and I had been planning for a “Pot-Luck-BBQ-Party” since November 2006. It had to be planned earlier since our work schedule differs. It’s not like we are celebrating X’mas or something like it, it’s just that the date fits everybody’s schedule. On the day itself all the required faces turned up. Only two couldn’t make it as they have other obligations, but those who came has certainly created havoc like we used to in our schooldays. Food was delicious, the company was great, and basically everything went on well.

~~ @ ~~

Well, I think that’s about it. I’ve written most of the things that had gives color to my life for the 2006. Should you notice that I didn’t mention any names in my round-up, it’s not that I don’t want to, it’s just that I don’t have to. You guys know who you are, who has given so much impact in my life (great ones of course!), a very significant one, more than what I expected this year. To those, you guys will remain so dear in my heart just like how I would remember this year for the rest of my life. My thanks to all of you who has supported me physically and mentally. I’m taking this opportunity as well to seek forgiveness from everyone whom I might have hurt them intentionally or unintentionally.

I bet 2007 won’t be the same as 2006 as I can sense the wind of change approaching. Whatever it is, I always hope for the better, for myself and to those who surrounds me. Happy New Year with many happy returns to all!
